What is it?
A wheel out of balance has a heavy spot that prevents it from rotating in a tightly, focused circular motion. Even a quarter of an ounce of imbalance can put uneven pressure on the treads, causing uneven tread wear and excess heat that shorten the life of the tire.
How can I tell if my wheels need balancing?
When your wheels are out of balance, you may notice some of these symptoms:
- Shaky or vibrating steering wheel
- Poor handling
- Uneven tire wear
We’re here to help
Our state-of-the-art balancer spins the tire at 60-100 MPH and feels the wobble of the tire to determine how the mass is distributed and where the high and low spots are. Our technicians apply small metal wheel weights to make sure that the tire is balanced evenly around the axel. Tire balancing is ideal for all types of car and truck tires – especially if you’re buying new.
